Droplets of Verse: ‘A Cafe Called Accordion’

They sat next to each other
At a café called Accordion
He held her pastry hands
And waltzed words across the table

Her strawberry jam smile
Spread across her face
Café aromas blending
With her visual caress

He sipped his coffee
His eyes above the rim
Always with a sweet word
He called her his sugar lump

She called him her carrot cake
They poured more coffee and spilled
Hot passion over the tablecloth
And shared a slice of happiness

    1. Thanks! Really pleased you pinpointed ‘playfulness’ because it was that part of romantic liaison I wanted to try and capture, rather than trying to create an erotic/passionate feel – although perhaps there is a hint of mild eroticism in there?
